| Description: | Digital photograph of a guitar neck with a low spotlight on it. The guitar leans upside-down against a wall. Only the neck is visible, with a sharp shadow echoing its shape on the wall behind it. |

| Process: | This digital photograph of a guitar's neck was taken as part of a photography assignment in PGY1501c (Fall 2005). This photograph was taken by balancing the guitar on a piece of furniture. Most of the lights were turned off and a spotlight was focused on the guitar and adjusted to create a crisp shadow. |
| Purpose: | The assignment that produced this photograph focused on abstract composition. Our assignment explained that we should take an "everyday object and elevate into a new realm." I had personally been interested in experimenting with shadows as a major compositional element. |
