Web Design: Northshire website - Website design in CSS for a homeowner's association, designed via class collaboration.
Description:  The original web design for this page was a mock-up done by a classmate for a project in GRA2143 (Spring 2006). As part of the website development project, I did the coding in CSS and XHTML, created the compass logo, and made very minor alterations to other aspects of the layout.
Process:  The original web design for this page was a mock-up created by a classmate in GRA2145 (Spring 2006). As a class, we were to design and develop a website for a Homeowner's Association. As part of my contribution, I transferred the layout into XHTML and CSS (with minor changes) and created the compass logo. I also designed the "inside" page of the site.
Purpose:  The purpose of this site was to provide an online presence for a Homeowner's association with a Members-Only area. The site would be used to provide information and resources to residents. The purpose for creating the layout in standards-compliant XHTML and CSS was to demonstrate the flexibility and superiority of this type of CSS layout over table layouts. The use of CSS and XHTML and the "separation of style and content" is an effective search engine optimization strategy as well as an accessibility aid.
